Medical Students for Choice is a national organization which was founded in 1993 by medical students concerned about the shortage of abortion providers, lack of abortion education in medical schools, and escalating violence against practitioners. The chapter at UC Davis School of Medicine was founded in 1994 .

 

To increase education and training opportunities for medical students and residents in abortion and reproductive health

 

To reform medical school curriculum and training to include abortion and reproductive health as a standard part of medical education

 

To educate students, the public, and policymakers in medicine and government in order to raise awareness of the vital need for abortion providers

To build a network of support and resources for the medical students and residents who are working to become tomorrow’s abortion providers
