Over 30 years ago, Clínica Tepati set out to address the healthcare gap in the Latino community of Sacramento. Today, this community remains socioeconomically disadvantaged and medically underserved. According to the 2003 California Health Interview Survey, 32.8% of Latinos in Sacramento County live at or below the Federal Poverty Line and 24.0% have no health insurance at all. In addition, 23.1% report not having a regular source of healthcare to turn to when ill or in need of health advice. Clínica Tepati remains committed to addressing the unmet needs of this community by providing quality healthcare at no cost to our patients.

In 2005, Clínica Tepati conducted nearly 1,000 patient visits. Although an increasingly diverse group of patients seeks and receives care at our clinic, the overwhelming majority of patients that we serve continue to self-identify as Latino. Spanish is the primary language spoken by the majority of our patients, and we continue to provide Spanish-English interpreters to help deliver culturally and linguistically appropriate care.

Our clinic proudly serves patients throughout the greater Sacramento area, as shown in the image at left. While the majority of our patients reside in Sacramento County, we often see patients from as far north as Colusa County and as far south as Stanislaus County. The fact that patients are willing to travel long distances to receive care at our clinic confirms the existence of unmet need in the community and speaks to the quality of service and personal attention we provide.
