Over 30 years ago, Clínica Tepati set out to address the healthcare gap in the Latino
community of Sacramento. Today, this community remains socioeconomically disadvantaged and medically underserved. According to the 2003 California Health Interview Survey, 32.8%
of Latinos in Sacramento County live at or below the
Federal Poverty Line and 24.0% have no health insurance at
all. In addition, 23.1% re port not having a regular source of
healthcare to turn to when ill or in need of health advice.
