Description of application: This application is designed to help train students about neurological eye motion and pupillary responses, about common pathological problems involving eye motion and pupillary defects, and about how to test for these conditions. The application has two simulators: an eye motion simulator and pupillary response simulator. Each simulator also provides an animated demonstration on testing and an interactive quiz to help teach the information. There is also a patient case area which provides realistic patient cases in a problem based manner. Currently there is 3 cases programmed with other cases planned to be added later.

Installation Instructions
The program requires no installation since it is a web-based program. However, it requires the installation of several auxiliary applications including a broswers (latest versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape) and both the Shockwave 8 or later and Quicktime 4 or later plugins. NOTE: all previous versions of Quicktime must be removed from the system before installing the latest version. In the Windows operating system, use the Add/Remove Programs utility in the Control Panel. If you are asked if you want all files removed for Quicktime, answer yes. If the previous version is not completely removed, the older plug-in may not be replaced by the new installation of Quicktime.
When the application is first run on your system, the Quicktime 3AssetXtra will automatically attempt to be loaded. If a dialog box appears and asks for permission to load it on your system, select yes. If you experience any problems with installation of the plug-ins, please see your system administrator. The application also requires javascript to be enabled.
Plugin Test
To help determine if the plugin applications are correctly installed, you may run a test to determine if all the correct plug-ins are installed in your system. Click on Plugin Test. Caution: The Plugin Tester does not always work! If everything is installed correctly, it will indicate this. If not, you will have to install or reinstall the latest Shockwave and Quicktime plug-ins. .
Quicktime 3Asset Xtra
This small file is needed to link the Quicktime sound with the Shockwave animation. When the application is first run on your computer, a dialog box will appear asking you for permission to download the Quicktime 3Asset Xtra. In order for the animation to function properly, you must download this file. It will not harm your computer.
Note: If you are unable to download this file because you are not the system administrator and do not have permission, please contact the system administrator to do it for you.
